018. What Are You Waiting For?
The problem with procrastination is that you’re always getting ready to get ready.
For example, while you’re waiting to put together your “perfect” website or launch your “perfect book” - somebody else is launching a perfectly good website or book.
While you’re perfectly your resume, your competitors have already sent theirs out!
Procrastination keeps your dreams from becoming a reality.
Once upon a time, there was a guy named George. He was in his mid-30s, was a good lookin’ dude, and always went to the same diner.
His favorite waitress was Stephanie. They always had great conversations and he’d go there every day to see her. He sat in the same booth, ordered the same thing, and they enjoyed conversation after conversation.
But the problem was that George didn’t think he was good enough for her.
So instead of asking her out, he decided to make himself a program to get better. He would go back to school and finish his degree, he would lose 30 pounds, and he would save $10,000.
After this “Year of George,” he’d be good enough for her.
In addition to those things, he would write her a letter, every single day.
No calls, no texts, no emails - he just wrote her a letter every day.
He went back to school, he started working out every day, and he started saving money.
And every day, the mailman delivered his letter to Stephanie.
One year went by: He finished his degree, he lost 30 pounds, he saved the 10 grand, and he wrote her a letter, Every. Single. Day.
And every day, the mailman delivered that letter.
One year to the day that he decided he would embark on this journey, George walked back into the diner, and Stephanie ran over to hug him!
“George, I haven’t seen you in so long! I got your letters. You’re too sweet.”
George took a deep breath and said, “Stephanie, will you go out with me?”
And Stephanie said back, “I would, George, but I’m already married. Just last month, I married the mailman.”
Procrastination is getting ready to get ready. Take the leap and do what you want to do NOW.
