LEARN THE HOW-TO WHEN IT COMES TO COMMUNICATION SKILLS

Some coaches are the best of the best when it comes to the strategy and tactics to their sport and field. They know how to foster skill development. They know the best mechanical cues and activities for helping their athletes and team members develop their strengths and improve their weaknesses.

But at the end of the day, many of these coaches run into roadblocks that have to do with communication. More often than they’d like to admit, their athletes and team members get frustrated with their inability to communicate effectively, and ultimately, the team fails to reach their goals and fail to realize their full potential.

After working with thousands of coaches, consultants, parents, and athletes in all sports, at all levels, over the course of a combined 50+ years, we’ve come to an overwhelming conclusion:

The BIGGEST PROBLEM in sport is most coaches, parents, and team members don’t know how to communicate effectively to help others achieve self-reliance, autonomy, and develop trust within themselves, the team, and the organization.

We created this Communication Mastery Course to help you build your communication skills to overcome those pesky roadblocks with those around you that you inevitably run into. This course is about building your self-awareness, increasing your ability to ask quality questions, and creating significant personal connections that will get your team the results you’re looking for.

What people are saying about the course…

The value of this 6-week course is that it gives coaches better coaching and question asking strategies to get through non-productive mental and emotional thoughts and behaviors.

At the beginning of the course, we learned what question asking was, why we should ask questions a certain way, and then HOW TO ask questions. For session 4 specifically, the Power of Language dives into the specific way you can take your question asking from good to great. This power of language being taught guides you to answers that you wanted out of your athletes and coaches and you're able to do this because the power of language helps you build that bridge of trust.

This course made me say, “There’s something that I’m not good at (communication skills) and you provided the bridge.” This course helps build a personal awareness. You become aware of your behaviors, questions you ask (like the why questions). It helps you pause, think, and ask questions in a better way and sometimes just not asking the question at all. It builds a more personal connection with the person. They know you’re not judging and you’re genuinely curious about what they truly think.

I have a litany of certifications, and none of them are related to communication or how to connect with an athlete or person and meet them where they’re at and see it as constructive. These communication techniques allow you to put the certifications to work. What’s the point of having all the coaching information if you can’t connect it with people? It applies to every level - someone with a ton of resources or someone without a ton of resources - and it allows them to flourish.

There’s a framework for you to be able to go through and it’s a system that you can go through to set the intentions for how coaches should be coaching. It’s professional dev for them to grow and build relationships. AMTL gives you a specific way to build those relationships.
